Going to print! Digital rewards to be distributed via BackerKit as well \o/

Hello, hello, hello,

I'm excited to share production on One-Eyed Jack Vol. 1 is now 100% complete! This means we are sending this bad boy to print in the next few days and from here on out it's a waiting game until the book comes back from the printer in Asia.

In my last update, about a month ago, I mentioned the travel ban imposed to travelers coming in from Brazil and how that was affecting fulfillment for this Kickstarter campaign. The travel ban is actually affecting all my outstanding campaigns and graphs like below can dampen the spirits...

However, I have a plan. It's not the best plan, it's not even a very good plan but definitely something we can all hold on to.

You'll notice that Mexico surprisingly has no travel restrictions so I've been looking at the possibility of flying to Mexico, quarantining there for 14 days and then catching a flight into the US. Technically that would work because the ban is not for people with a Brazilian passport but rather if you've been in Brazil in the past 14 days prior to entry in the US.

I've held on to future Kickstarters, including the launch of the One-Eyed Jack Vol. 2 campaign, until fulfillment on all outstanding campaigns are completed and I hope to rectify that in the upcoming couple of months.

In the meantime One-Eyed Jack Vol. 1 is going to print and digital copies distributed via BackerKit. As of right now here are some dates we can look forward to:

• July 27th - Printing starts. There will be an eight-week waiting period until delivery in the US.
• August 1st - Digital distribution via BackerKit
• Late Sept./early Oct. - Books and other rewards arrive in FL.
• Oct. 31st - All rewards shipped out and fulfillment completed

Hey everyone,

Time for the monthly update on One-Eyed Jack Vol. 1 and I have good and bad news. Let's get to the good news first because they are really good \o/

Production on the book is nearly finished which is awesome. All pages have been completed, the lettering is done, both covers are gorgeous and finished and we're now putting in the last touches on the book design before going to print.

I still have some texts to get through like the text on the back-cover as you can see above, the foreword by Anthony E. Zuiker and technical info to accompany the credits page.

There is a reason why we slowed down a bit on this very last step before going to print. And here comes the bad news...

We had every intention of printing the book and fulfilling the rewards in late July and we were on track to make that happen when travel into the US from Brazil was restricted indefinitely. I went over this already in the Kickstarter to fund The Few and Cursed #6.

For those that do not know I officially reside in Brazil and I travel back and forth as often as possible to continue working on the comics and fulfilling the Kickstarters. Unfortunately with the travel ban imposed by the current administration I won't be going to Florida anytime soon...

And thus I can't really say when I will be able to send everyone's rewards. 

JAE LEE'S COVER REVEAL FOR THE VARIANT EDITION!!!

I will continue to monitor the situation and I'm not waiting for the travel ban to be lifted to send One-Eyed Jack to print, that's still happening by the end of the month anyway. I just wanted to keep you all informed that late July is no longer a viable shipping date and I really cannot give a new one.

Hey everyone,

I will keep this fast and short today... BackerKit Surveys are locking down this next WEDNESDAY (May 6th) at 11:59pm PST!

To help me fulfill everyone's reward packages I'm using a pledge manager called BackerKit. It's through BackerKit I will be able to see exactly what your pledge gets you and where to ship it to. That's right, I don't have access to a shipping address via Kickstarter.

I need ALL OF YOU to fill out your BackerKit Surveys and that includes providing me with a shipping address. No exceptions. You don't fill out the survey you don't get the book, simple as that.

I still have 65 backers that have yet to respond and complete their surveys so how about we get on it by next Wednesday, folks?

REMINDER: BackerKit Surveys locking down on May 6th!!!

If you haven't gotten your Survey in the e-mail registered on your Kickstarter account or if you deleted it by accident please hit the below to retrieve them:

Those that have already completed their surveys just make sure you don't have any last-minute edits or add-on purchases. BackerKit will lock down on May 6th and finalize any extra purchases by then. Your credit cards will be charged on Thursday and all purchases final.

This week also marks the LAST OPPORTUNITY to grab the Kickstarter exclusive hardcover edition. You can either upgrade your current pledge or grab an extra copy but once BackerKit locks down on Wednesday that's it, the hardcover won't be available anymore.

Oh and in case you are wondering what Jae Lee's cover will look like he sent over the finished layout/concept a week or so ago and it looks incredible.

Hello there,

We have officially started the fulfillment process and the first step is the BackerKit Surveys. I'm happy to confirm all BACKERKIT SURVEYS HAVE BEEN SENT! And if you don't fill them out you won't be able to retrieve any rewards included in your pledge - digital files included.

You should all have gotten e-mails directly from BackerKit asking you to fill out the Surveys. They are easily accessible from the e-mails sent and pretty straightforward. Just follow their steps and instructions.

If you haven't received your BackerKit Survey invite please follow these steps:

Keep an eye out on your Spam Folder or Junk Mail. E-mails will come either directly from myself (Felipe Cagno) or BackerKit and will say Response Needed -- Get your reward for One-Eyed Jack Vol. 1 on the subject line.

If you didn't spot them manually, try using the "Search" feature from your e-mail account and look for either my name or BackerKit.

If none of the above has worked then click the link below, hit the "Lost your Survey?" and input your Kickstarter registered e-mail when  prompted:

Backers will have a LAST CHANCE to add a Kickstarter Exclusive hardcover edition with Jae Lee's cover art to their pledges on top of a number of other graphic novels, collectibles and more. Make sure to scroll down the Add-Ons section to see if there's anything that fancies you.

PLEASE NOTE: Credit cards are not charged immediately. They are only charged after the surveys lock down around early May between the 5th and 10th.

Shipping Problems, Missing Rewards or any other issues

Glitches might happen. I'm prone to mistakes so if you notice anything out of  place do not hesitate to either leave a comment on this update, shoot me  a message or e-mail me at [email protected]

If you have any problems filling out the surveys as well or adding  items to your pledge I'm always here to help make this experience as  smooth as possible.

Nobody reported anything yet so fingers crossed it's all good. And because credit cards aren't charged right away just add items at your convenience and if there's anything wrong with pricing or shipping we  can correct it before the charges go through.

You will be free to go back at any moment to make any changes, edit your add-on order and whatnot until sometime around May 5th to the 10th when Surveys lock down.

That's a wrap on the Art for One-Eyed Jack #1! BackerKit Surveys coming next week - please read since they are MANDATORY, folks!

Hello there,

I'm happy to announce Bräo has finished the art for One-Eyed Jack Vol. 1!! We are now moving forward with production getting the lettering done, final revisions and prepping files to go to print.

Words escape me when looking at all the pages Bräo have painted for this project. They look absolutely stunning and even though we are tackling a very difficult and delicate subject matter I'm sure his art helps us digest the story.

I'm incredibly proud of One-Eyed Jack and thankful to Anthony E. Zuiker for trusting me, Bräo and everyone else in the team to bring his vision to reality.

As soon as Bräo finishes scanning and doing a final check on the pages I will go ahead and coordinate the lettering with Deyvison Manes to make sure we are print-ready by May 15th. Obviously things are bit fluid right now but we are going to continue giving it our best.

And since we are getting ready to go to print it's time to talk BACKERKIT SURVEYS.

Alright, BackerKit Surveys are coming up next week and they are extremely crucial to ensure a smooth fulfillment. Without you filling out the Surveys I will not have access to a shipping address and without addresses I cannot mail your rewards. Meaning:

BACKERKIT SURVEYS ARE MANDATORY

If you don't fill them out you won't get your rewards.  It's that simple. BackerKit is a Pledge Manager design to streamline and organize all the different tiers and packages. Surveys are sent via e-mail and are easily accessible, it's super easy to fill them out.

But if you don't complete this step then your pledge is forfeit and the cash invested will be considered a donation towards the project so please make sure you do get your BackerKit Survey and fill it out in a timely manner.

Early next week you'll get an e-mail with a personal link to your BackerKit Survey. It's important to respond to your survey as quickly as possible since I will need the information in it prior to sending items to production. The surveys tally up the final counts of each item and that's why these go out so far ahead of the actual shipping date.

Surveys will be sent to the e-mail account registered with Kickstarter and they may end up in your Spam or Junk Folder. Please keep this in mind and give your Spam a peek every now and then. I'll send another update shortly after Surveys have gone out to make sure you know when and where to look for them.

Please note: If you used your Facebook credentials to log int to your Kickstarter account the Survey will be sent to the e-mail address registered with Facebook.

How long will BackerKit Surveys be online?

I will lock down surveys around early May. After that time backers will not be able to add anything on to their pledges or fix any payment issues occurred during the Kickstarter campaign. 

Pledge Managers also allow backers to add new products to their packages. One of the steps in the survey offers a menu of sorts of other graphic novels, collectibles and more and you are welcome to pick and choose whatever you like. All the products purchased at this step are shipped alongside your Kickstarter rewards.

Important info: Credit cards are not charged immediately when you finish filling out the surveys and has added anything to your original pledges. At this time all we are looking for is the final tally of each product to make sure we print them in enough quantity to cater to all the orders - especially the more in demand and collectible items like the PRINT ON DEMAND Kickstarter exclusive edition.

***Your credit cards will only be charged in May after the Surveys have been locked.***

Do I need to sign-up for BackerKit?

No, you do not. You don't need to create a BackerKit account to fill out the survey. When you receive the e-mail just click the survey link to be taken to the online form and that's it. You'll answer a couple of questions about your reward choices, provide shipping information and purchase add-on items if you like.

What happens if I need to update my Shipping Address after Surveys lock?

You can review your shipping information up to two weeks ahead of fulfillment. I will make sure to constantly communicate our dates and you can always retrieve your BackerKit Survey clicking the original link or by visiting BackerKit.com and inputting your e-mail under "Lost your survey?" button.

What about any add-ons I might have purchased already through the Kickstarter campaign?

That's why BackerKit is so important. If by any chance your over-pledged you will get extra credit to be used towards any add-ons  on BackerKit. Just go through the menu of items on the third screen and pick whatever you want.

If you happen to go over any leftover balance the system automatically asks for payment method, it's all very intuitive and automated.
